About The Position

The Financial Services Representative I (FSR I) at Keesler Federal Credit Union is responsible for creating, opening, and processing new consumer and business member accounts while cross-selling services to members. This role involves conducting quality interviews with members to understand their needs and providing them with appropriate credit union products and services. The FSR I will also handle transactions, maintain cash control, and ensure compliance with federal regulations, all while delivering exceptional member service.

Requirements

  • High school education or GED; community college coursework is desired.
  • 1-3 years of similar or related experience.
  • Completion of Lending Class, New Accounts training, and Teller training required.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Outgoing personality with a helpful member service attitude.
  • Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and implement changing policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of teller transactions relevant to the position.
  • Familiarity with home banking and bill paying services.

Responsibilities

  • Open and process documentation for consumer and business deposit accounts.
  • Order and manage ATM and Debit cards for members.
  • Conduct quality interviews with members using the AIDINC® system.
  • Accept deposits, payments, and perform withdrawals or loan advances.
  • Maintain control of cash and ensure accuracy in transactions.
  • Verify checks for deposit and determine collectability based on credit union policy.
  • Provide account information to members and resolve concerns or complaints.
  • Complete consumer and business loan applications and route them for decision.
  • Communicate loan decisions to members and advise on next steps if declined.
  • Disburse loans upon approval and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly.
  • Assist in marketing campaigns by making outbound calls to members.
  • Maintain proficiency in necessary computer systems and software.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and credit union policies.
