This position provides management and oversight of the systems and business processes in the School Financial Reporting section. This position also oversees School Business Services direct customer service to all public schools in North Carolina. This position ensures that operational, procedural and regulatory requirements are met. This position advises the development of new systems and new business and system processes and manages staff in supporting the public schools. These tasks are performed with the assistance of eleven staff supervised by this position. To accomplish this, the position must review and interpret current State and Federal legislation, and Board of Education policy and develop, update, and maintain accurate reporting and auditing of financial and student data. This position works closely with all levels of staff within DPI, LEAs, charter, regional, and laboratory school personnel, and financial vendors. This position is responsible for establishing strict controls, policies, and analytical methodologies to ensure the most consistent and the highest quality of data is presented at all times.
