The Department of General Services (DGS) Fiscal Office is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Financial Reporting Manager within the General Ledger/Financial Reporting Unit. This position will ensure expectations are clearly communicated while providing leadership, training, and direction to a staff of professional accountants performing a variety of complex accounting and analytical functions within the areas of General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Grant Reporting, Lease Accounting, and Financial Reporting while also providing financial, functional and technical support to Divisions within the Agency. This position will be responsible for managing, reviewing, analyzing and approving monthly financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, financial projections, and forecasting of accounting data with accuracy and in a timely manner. This position will also be responsible for examining, evaluating and releasing; fixed assets, lease expenditures, and subscription-based IT transactions while managing all related financial reporting. This position will prepare and review financial attachments, schedules, and footnotes for the year-end submissions to be included in the Commonwealth's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. Will also provide management with accurate and timely financial information; tools to help improve financial processes; provide guidance to DGS management through the various financial processes using verbal and written communication skills; make timely and effective recommendations that support management in planning and decision making; interact with management and other state agencies on financial matters.
