About The Position

The position involves supervising and reviewing financial analyses and the preparation of all reports and financial statements. The role requires interpreting the meaning of accounting results and advising management accordingly. Additionally, the individual will prepare and/or review projections of financial data to illustrate the effects of proposed changes on income and financial condition. The position oversees the classification and recording of all accounting transactions, ensuring that financial systems and procedures comply with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulations. The individual will provide support and development to the division accounting team, which is responsible for accounting and month-end closing support for Division SG&A business units, performing A/R cash application, and claims accounting. The role also includes coordinating the budgeting process for the division and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement by actively identifying and responding to the needs of all customers while being open and responsive to change. Furthermore, the individual will support management with technical expertise in areas such as SEC regulations, GAAP, PeopleSoft, and SOX Internal Controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • CPA and/or graduate degree preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in a specific discipline or functional area.
  • Broad, in-depth understanding of accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting applications.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in accounting or finance.
  • Month-end closing experience.
  • Management accounting skills to transform financial information into usable management information.
  • Skills and desire to train and develop people.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management at all levels.
  • Ability to make impactful decisions when ambiguity exists.
