About The Position

The Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for producing monthly financial statements, preparing quarterly reports, and overseeing investor accounting for mortgages. This role involves ensuring compliance with financial regulations, training accounting staff, and completing various accounting projects as assigned by management. The position emphasizes accuracy, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.

Requirements

  • BS/BA college degree in an Accounting or Business related discipline.
  • 4 years of progressive experience in an accounting or business related field.
  • Knowledge of NCUA and GA State Banking regulations.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and FASB pronouncements.
  • Advanced computer and technology related skills (MS Word & Excel).
  • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

  • 2 years working in a financial service industry.
  • 2 years leadership or supervisory level experience.

Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly financial statements, ALM package, and quarterly footnotes.
  • Prepare and transmit quarterly NCUA 5300 Call Report.
  • Prepare and post monthly income and expense accrual.
  • Oversee daily and monthly investor accounting for mortgages sold on the secondary market.
  • Conduct mid-month review of Mortgage GL's for clean-up.
  • Complete and submit Raddon reporting (semi-annual).
  • Prepare Tax Form 945/945A (annually).
  • Calculate Board of Directors Income for 1099-MISC (annually).
  • Assist with the Indirect DRA reserves and chargebacks.
  • Review Daily and Monthly Accounting department reconciliations.
  • Approve Accounts Payable invoices and other miscellaneous reconciliations and reimbursements as needed.
  • Train and provide backup support to the Accounting staff.
  • Complete projects as assigned by Accounting Manager and/or the SVP/CFO.
