Our focus extends beyond providing access to high-quality, affordable, and equitable care. To further improve the health and well-being of our fellow Rhode Islanders, we regularly roll up our sleeves and get to work (literally) in communities all across the state—building homes, working in food pantries, revitalizing community centers, and transforming outdoor spaces for children and adults. Because we believe it is our collective responsibility to uplift our fellow Rhode Islanders when and where we can, our associates receive additional paid time to volunteer. Why this job matters: BCBSRI is looking for local undergraduate students to participate in our dynamic, paid summer internship program for 2026! Through this program, you will gain hands-on experience in various business areas, such as Health Administration, Business Operations, Finance, Marketing, Information Technology, Data Analysis, and Customer Service. We’re more than just insurance. BCBSRI is known statewide for our commitment to health equity and helping Rhode Islanders live their healthiest, best lives. This commitment is powered by the work our associates do every day. As an intern, the work you do will drive positive change in our community and contribute to the health and well-being of our members. Nationally, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield brand is synonymous with trust and innovation. Your internship here will be revered and respected when you recap your experience with future employers throughout your career. We value work/life balance. Our hybrid workplace culture will allow you to balance your role and extracurricular commitments. You’ll get the best of both worlds—the flexibility to work from home some days, while getting to work in our dynamic office environment in the heart of Providence on others. You will also get the opportunity to connect with other interns and company professionals during virtual or in-person meetings and at volunteer events.
