About The Position

You could be the one who changes everything for our 28 million members as an Intern at Centene. During this 12-week program, you'll learn more about Centene and how we're transforming the health of the community, one person at a time. The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) interns will have the opportunity to explore the variety of roles that comprise Centene's Financial Planning function while contributing meaningful and valuable work. The department's core function is ownership of the organization's annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning processes including financial variance analysis and staff planning. This internship involves the participation of the entire team which provides interns access to a broad range of knowledge and interaction with financial leaders across the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university or college, preferably in a field related to the hiring department through the internship period.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about various processes and functions within the Managed Care industry and develop professionally by contributing to projects that support the business.
  • Engage in department rotations with members from various functional areas of FP&A including Corporate Finance, Information Technology (IT) Finance and Operations Finance.
  • Complete a Signature Project, an assigned project based on the specific needs of the department, working closely with the Project Lead to complete this assignment over the course of the 12-week program.
  • Participate in various training and networking programs, which provide the opportunity to network with Finance leaders across the organization and learn about the roles and responsibilities of finance and accounting specialties throughout Centene.
  • Research various legal, regulatory, and other topics within functional area and industry.
  • Attend training and development presentations to enhance professional competencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
