About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Manager / Business Unit Controller to manage the finances, accounting, and contract compliance for several large multi-year construction projects and programs. This role involves regular interaction with project managers, ensuring all accounting and finance related items are in compliance, accurate and up to date for each project.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience in general leader accounting, financial analysis, etc. Skills should include: Financial statement analysis Financial reporting Month-end close Audit Billing, pricing, proposal reviews Cost, cash flow and financial forecasts Cost accounting WIP Etc.
  • 3-5+ years of recent construction experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field of study.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities

  • Book month-end financial adjustments for assigned projects and assist with creation of business unit month-end reporting.
  • Work closely with Project Leadership to ensure proper allocation of costs and review cost ledgers, entering adjustments into the accounting system.
  • Assist with cost, pricing, and proposal reviews to verify accuracy and adherence to federal cost accounting standards.
  • Meet monthly with Project Leaders and operation staff to validate estimated project costs and train leaders in cost forecasts, manpower projections, cash flow, and change order management.
  • Provide and update 36-month revenue and gross profit projections quarterly for assigned projects, reviewing with Controller, Operations Directors, and Vice Presidents.
  • Assist Project Leaders in preparation and presentation of monthly Key Project Reviews and project/program Gate Checks.
  • Prepare data for required monthly reports/CDRLs and participate in contract status review meetings.
  • Interact regularly with customers or their representatives and manage finances, accounting, and contract compliance for large multi-year projects.
  • Produce and coordinate monthly billing, ensuring compliance with invoicing terms and conditions, and resolve billing concerns for timely payment.
  • Post invoices in customers’ invoicing systems and the company's accounting system.
  • Monitor contract compliance and customer reporting.
