Under the general direction of Accounting Section Chief, this position: directs, manages and supervises the provision of accounting, reporting and financial management services by professional personnel to the Department and administratively attached agencies, boards and councils, including the Governor's Office; Lieutenant Governor's Office; District Attorneys; Judicial Council; Board for Persons with Developmental Disabilities; Board on Aging and Long Term Care; Office of the Secretary of State; and Office of the State Treasurer; Department of Tourism; Kickapoo Reserve Management Board; Labor Industry Review Commission; assists with the reconciliation of accounting records; preparation of financial reports including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and departmental submissions for the Statewide Cost Allocation Plan and Indirect Cost Proposal; and the development and maintenance of the Department's Internal Control Plan and financial policies and procedures.

  • Managing, supervising, or leading a team (e.g., delegation of work, hiring, evaluation, project management, etc.
  • Financial Statement preparation in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Development and/or modification of fiscal policies or procedures
  • Utilizing complex automated accounting systems (e.g. ERP system)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Analysis of accounting standards, state statutes, or federal regulations
  • Financial Statement preparation and/or regulatory financial reporting for a Governmental Entity
