About The Position

This position is located within the Bureau of Public Engagement of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes. It is an in-office position that is part of the financial investigative team and is responsible for analyzing and investigating incoming complaints about alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board Rules regulated by the Department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Ability to analyze financial documents.
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply statutes and administrative rules to specific fact scenarios.
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding interviews and take statements.
  • Ability to collect and analyze evidence.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations.
  • Ability to write accurate investigative reports.
  • Skilled with attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Skilled with strong oral and written communication.
  • Skilled with customer service etiquette.
  • Two years of investigative work.
  • Two years researching and analyzing financial documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Former Law Enforcement experience.
  • With experience in researching and analyzing statutory issues.
  • With experience in preparing investigative reports.
  • Who are bilingual in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates alleged violations, related to complex financial issues, of Chapters 718, 719, 721 and 723, Florida Statutes, and related Florida Administrative Code.
  • Prepares investigative report of findings and recommendations and presents testimony at Formal Hearings in support of Administrative Actions (or court proceedings, if necessary).
  • Conducts case and non-related case travel.
  • Works closely with the Attorney Supervisor to determine cases that may be referred to the States Attorney and other local law enforcement agencies for criminal prosecution.
  • Prepares investigative reports and referrals. Gathers information necessary to investigate allegations.
  • Performs other related work as required.
