About The Position

The Financial Data Analyst will be a key member of the UVA Dine account, reporting directly to the Controller. This is a full-time, hourly, and in-person position located on the grounds of the University of Virginia. The primary responsibility of this role is to collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to support sound business decisions. A crucial component of this position involves reviewing invoices, ensuring accurate entry into the system, and guaranteeing proper payment and billing.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a financial analysis, accounting, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis and financial software, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A solid understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Meticulously review, enter, and process all incoming invoices, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and receipts.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors and billing to clients, resolving any discrepancies or issues that arise.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for the Controller and other stakeholders.
• Reconcile financial data across various systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Work closely with the Controller and other departments to provide data-driven insights and support financial operations.
