About The Position

The Financial Counselor is responsible for collecting estimated portions from insured and uninsured patients. It is also the responsibility of the Financial Counselor to be a liaison and resource for Business Office. The Financial Counselor will work very closely with Resource Assistance, RCA, the HPN physician offices, and Business Office.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of experience
• Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position
• Deals effectively with community/consumers
• Deals effectively with hospital personnel & duties of position
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills
• Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills
• Maintains professional appearance and decorum at all times
• Requires ability to handle confidential information
• Strong negotiation skills
• Balance figures
• Compiles and analyze reports
• Generate reports
• Input data into computer programs
• Research information
• Use computerized spreadsheets to conduct analysis
