About The Position

The Financial Controller at Guardian Metals, LLC is a pivotal role responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting and financial operations within a rapidly growing metal distribution company. This hands-on position requires a versatile individual who can perform a range of roles while the finance team is being developed. The Controller will focus on inventory management, cost control, and financial strategy, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end financial management and inventory control.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and cost accounting.
• Strong ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple accounting activities.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software packages and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• An MBA or CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all areas relating to accounting functions and financial reporting.
• Develop, maintain, and execute accounting principles, practices, and procedures for accurate financial reporting.
• Manage all aspects of inventory accounting, including valuation, physical inventories, obsolescence, and cost analysis.
• Play a critical role in strategic planning, forecasting, and process improvement.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
