About The Position

Join a talented team of engineering professionals at Vogt Power International Inc. Vogt is based in Louisville, KY and specializes in the design, manufacture and supply of equipment and solutions to the power generation industry. We are an industry leader in heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with both domestic and international customers. Position Summary The Controller is responsible for accurate financial reporting, disciplined execution of accounting processes, and reliable cash and liquidity management. This role ensures timely closes, high-quality financial data, and consistent application of accounting standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
  • 9–12 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience with project accounting (e.g., percentage‑of‑completion).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute within deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the General Ledger function; ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Manage accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and consolidations, including international operations.
  • Deliver timely, high‑quality financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Manage cash forecasting, cash collection activities, and monitor liquidity needs.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate and prepare schedules for annual audits (independent, regulatory, customer).
  • Manage Sales and Use Tax filings.
  • Partner with FP&A and finance leadership to support forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide performance management to accounting staff.
  • Respond to financial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
