About The Position

Stanley/Stella is the European leader in premium and sustainable blank apparel. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing, values-driven company at a pivotal stage of its US expansion. We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to play a key role in this exciting growth phase. This role will oversee all financial operations for our US business, from accounting, budgeting, and financial planning to tax, compliance, and reporting. Working in close collaboration with our Brussels headquarters, the Financial Controller will ensure the accuracy, transparency, and scalability of our financial processes while supporting strategic decision-making and sustainable business growth in the US market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Strong background in both audit (ideally Big 4) and industry accounting/controlling.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proven experience in building or optimizing finance processes within a fast-growing or international organization.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable moving between strategic planning and operational execution.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in accounting tools, ERP systems (Infor M3 or similar), and advanced Excel / Power BI.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in collaboration with a European corporate HQ is a plus.
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Infor M3 experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations for the US entity, including general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, tax, and reporting.
  • Lead the monthly and annual closing process and ensure timely, accurate financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Partner with the COO and Group Finance to drive financial planning, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Ensure proper cash flow management and credit control to support business growth.
  • Supervise day-to-day accounting while continuously improving systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate on ERP configuration and data integrity (Infor M3 experience is a plus).
  • Manage external tax advisors, auditors, and local accounting partners to ensure compliance with US federal and state tax obligations.
  • Build dashboards and tools (Excel, Power BI) to provide clear visibility into financial performance and key KPIs.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance financial efficiency and scalability.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
  • As we grow, recruit, mentor, and develop a small finance team to support long-term expansion.
