A Day in the Life Join the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) finance team supporting Patient Care Systems as a Financial Consultant. This role will report to the CRM PCS Finance Director and be on a team that supports revenue and directly oversees and manages OPC/Overhead spending and significant capital investment. This role provides business partnership and financial support to the Vice President of Software Development as well as supports the collective PCS leadership team. This role is suited for a finance professional with a strong foundation in accounting - ideally with public or technical accounting experience - who can navigate complex guidance, particularly around software capitalization, and anticipate potential accounting implications of business initiatives. Success in this role comes from pairing technical expertise with curiosity, driving forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning, and working with others to uncover insights, resolve discrepancies, and inform sound financial decisions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of work experience in Accounting and/or Finance (Or Advanced Degree with 8+ years)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (public accounting / technical accounting strongly preferred), Master of Business Administration (MBA), or other advanced degree
  • Controllership/Capital Accounting Experience
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with interests in building strong business partnering relationships
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to identify key trends and drivers and the proven experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise information
  • Ability to manage tight time commitments
  • Knowledge of SAP and OneStream/Hyperion systems
  • Experience in navigating across complex matrix organizations
  • Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex financial data into clear recommendations
  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the VP of Software Development in all aspects of financial management including financial reporting, strategic project prioritization, investment trade-off, resource allocation, expense management and capital planning
  • Serve as the primary finance partner to the PCS Software Organization supporting cost center and project management, ad-hoc financial analysis and business case development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and finance colleagues to develop and share scalable solutions and best practices that enhance PCS Finance performance and create value across the broader CRM Finance organization
  • Identify potential accounting implications of proposed business initiatives and transactions, ensuring alignment with applicable accounting standards and internal policies
  • Engage with the Cardiovascular Controller to provide clear, comprehensive project insights that inform capital/expense classification decisions for software initiatives in alignment with accounting standards
  • Coordinate PCS Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities, including preparing and presenting monthly/quarterly business results
  • Lead the AOP budgeting and rolling forecast process for the software organization ensuring investment aligns with PCS goals and objectives
  • Support the monthly Integrated Business Planning meetings
  • Participate in core teams and be the financial liaison to the phase gate business reviews
  • Create and maintain Enrich models for R&D investments, showcasing NPV and IRR for current and future strategic initiatives
