About The Position

The Financial Clearance Representative I serves as a liaison between the organization and the patient's insurance company to facilitate and expedite financial clearance functions required for patient evaluation and treatment. This role involves creating and maintaining records related to financial clearance and acting as a liaison between admissions, authorizations, clinic staff, patient accounting, and physician billing. The Financial Clearance Representative II administers the clinical authorization process and resolves more complex clinical authorization issues. This position also assists with training Financial Clearance Representative I's on eligibility and benefits, reviews reports to monitor unit efficiency, and evaluates problems to appropriately report or resolve such issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma.
  • For Financial Clearance Representative I: One (1) year of full-time experience in pre-certifications and follow-up procedures or a related field, or completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park.
  • For Financial Clearance Representative II: Three (3) years of full-time experience in pre-certifications and follow-up procedures or two (2) years of full-time experience in Financial Clearance and/or Patient Access within the Financial Clearance Department at Roswell Park.
