About The Position

The Financial Case Manager supports the daily administrative activities at the residence and assists clients in establishing and maintaining eligibility for financial assistance.

Requirements

  • Associates preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid NY State Driver License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Two years of prior experience in substance abuse or related human service field preferred.
  • Relevant years of experience and education will be considered
  • Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to, those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing and documentation standards. All duties must be performed in accordance with CCDR’s corporate compliance and ethics program.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, plan, and complete work projects with minimal direction
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to effectively and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal/written skills
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations, including economic diversity.
  • Possession a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier.
  • Continuous use of a reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
  • Ability to work in the following software programs: Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple online software platforms as required by funders and partner organizations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors and attitudes which support organizational mission, philosophy, and policies
  • Ability to work in a cooperative and helpful manner with all individuals
  • Willingness and ability to foster agency and program wide cooperation and teamwork through use of positive/constructive communication techniques
  • Provide effective, equitable, understandable and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy and other communication needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists residents in establishing funding, acting as liaison between Public Assistance representatives and the agency.
  • Functions as the liaison between CCSL Residential Services and DSS.
  • Ensures recertification paperwork is completed and submitted timely to DSS.
  • Completes monthly billing reports indicating payments received and those in arrears.
  • Advocates for and teaches clients basic living skills regarding banking, budgets, financial and medical benefits program as appropriate to the client’s ability.
  • Answers the business phone and direct calls.
  • Maintains petty cash records, monitor resident loans and repayment contracts.
  • Assists staff in monitoring the daily activities of residents and visitors.
  • Maintains professional boundaries with residents.
  • Adheres to confidentiality regulations.
  • Enters all insurance information into Med Lab system at the time of admission.
  • Ensures compliance with FNS agreement by collecting food stamp benefits from all residents monthly and provide receipt logs to finance office in a timely manner.
  • Completes other duties as assigned
