Column Technical Services is seeking an experienced Financial Applications Specialist II with deep expertise in Workday and Time & Attendance systems.   • Lead the development and implementation of payroll systems from initial design through production deployment
  • Oversee operational tasks and project deliverables related to payroll processing for large employee populations
  • Ensure seamless integration between Workday payroll systems and both internal and external platforms
  • Coordinate Time & Attendance processes using Symplr Workforce Management or similar software, ensuring accurate payroll processing
  • Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements specific to client jurisdictions
  • Evaluate business challenges and deliver solutions through application development, system integration, and process automation
  • Contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, testing, rollout, and ongoing support
  • Provide technical guidance to identify system gaps and recommend tailored or standard solutions
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to define integration strategies and document technical solutions
  • Support financial initiatives through detailed analysis, processing documentation, and user training
  • Convert complex business needs into actionable technical deliverables across various finance functions
  • Maintain comprehensive process documentation and offer mentorship to junior team members
  • Stay informed on industry developments through relevant seminars, workshops, and training sessions
  • 4-7 years of full cycle implementation of Workday Payroll and or a Symplr / Workday Time & Attendance system.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong background in implementation for Workday Payroll and/or Symplr Workforce Time & Attendance or Kronos.
  • Functional expert resource in the Payroll and Time & Attendance domain, with proficiency in payroll tax compliance, Wage and Hour laws overtime requirements, and related regulatory practices.
  • Strong understanding of Payroll data and reporting Workday / Simplr Time & Attendance system.
  • Experienced in functional design, configuration, preparing and executing test cases with remediation, and delivering end‑user training and documentation.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, meticulous documentation practices, and strong communication skills to effectively represent the function with stakeholders.
