Job Summary: Develops, analyzes, and conducts financial analyses to assess the viability of financial plans and programs, under occasional guidance. Develops financial statements, compensation analyses, financial packages, and presentations for various projects. Department Summary: The Division of Genetic Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology is a robust and dynamic division, innovating across its research and clinical missions to integrate genome variation and function to better define biological mechanisms of human disease. A leader in personalized medicine, the division aims to understand how basic molecular, biochemical and cellular processes are altered in various pathological conditions, seeking to identify novel therapeutic interventions for human diseases. The division is closely tied to the Vanderbilt Genetics Institute, which leads the nation in mapping the complex interactions between our genome and human health. The Division of Epidemiology is committed to: Conducting research to enhance and expand our understanding of the distribution and determinants of disease Promoting collaboration aimed at translating research into cost-effective strategies of disease prevention and health care delivery Training independent investigators in epidemiology research and disease prevention Our faculty share a broad interest in the research of genetics, nutrition, and other lifestyle and environmental factors. Responsibilities

  • Oversight of operational finances for the Division of Genetic Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology and the Division of Epidemiology
  • Monthly reconciliation and reporting of operational accounts, APS, Teaching, Residuals, Gifts & Endowments, Clinical Trials
  • Monthly review of financial needs for faculty appointments and reappointments
  • Preparation of faculty salary plans, APS worksheets, faculty effort grids, BFT entry and approvals
  • Management of financial funding reviews for all new and backfilled staff positions
  • Review and approval of financial support for fellows appointments and reappointments
  • Daily approvals of operational expenses including APS, Gifts & Endowments, Clinical Trials
  • Submission of vendor subcontract requests; daily preparation of miscellaneous payment requests
  • Daily review and approval of supplier invoices; quarterly forecast assistance to Division Administrator
  • Annual budget preparation with Division Administrator; quarterly endowment, gift, and residual spending review and planning
  • Proforma preparation as needed
  • Monthly CC review and corrections
  • Quarterly funding of cost share
  • Daily expense review
  • Backup to Division Administrator
