About The Position

The Finance department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as an Associate Financial Analyst. This is a full-time, non-exempt position in the Sandy, Utah headquarters office. Hybrid work is available after training. This position is open to internal and external candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3+ years of financial reporting and accounting experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency, advanced Excel functions and formulas.
  • Programming skills in SQL.
  • Ability to interpret and assess government regulations, instructions, or publications to ensure compliance with changing reporting and filing requirements.
  • Individual should be detail-oriented and a team player with strong analytical, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management and the ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex concepts to non-specialists
  • An internal candidate should have six months in their current position, have acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience strongly preferred with experience in premium tax and financial reporting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare required monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory premium tax returns, financial filings, and reports to multiple regulatory jurisdictions for workers' compensation and other P&C lines.
  • Review, analyze, create, and maintain records, reports, and documents from databases.
  • Reconcile reporting data to financial data, investigate and correct discrepancies, analyze errors and explain data irregularities to insurance reporting bureaus or states agencies.
  • Analyze compliance requests and determine the most suitable way to verify and submit the data.
  • Communicate with regulatory agencies to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Gather and submit financial call data for National Council in Compensation Insurance and independent bureau states.
  • Perform data extractions using SQL and other means.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
