About The Position

Under the supervision of the VP of Finance, the Financial Analyst will assist with maintaining the necessary accounting records required for monthly financial statements and other financial reports necessary by the department. The Financial Analyst will apply principles of accounting in preparing analyses and summary schedules to financial statements. This position will also oversee the maintenance and integrity of the general ledger (or sections thereof) and provides technical direction to subordinate level activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year College or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of computers, with a strong understanding of multiple business applications, specifically word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Experience with Meditech; Meditech Expanse preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Bank Account Reconciliation
  • Reconciles all bank accounts and prepares monthly cash summary report; verifies all data for accuracy and submits to supervisor.
  • General Ledger Reporting
  • Prepare monthly General Ledger account reconciliations for account U.P.P. payment, Blue Cross and Periodic Interim Payment.
  • Responsible for adjusting journal entries for general ledger reporting; (i.e. receipts, disbursements, fixed assets, error codes, etc.).
  • Fixed Asset Record Keeping
  • Responsible for all aspects of fixed asset record keeping and reporting
  • Prepares all monthly and quarterly fixed assets reports
  • Prepare and submit all annual additions, deletions, and adjustments to external fixed asset record keeper
  • Annual Budget
  • Assists with annual budget preparation as needed.
  • Employee Benefits
  • Maintains records and prepares and reconciliations of health/dental/drug claims or employee benefit plan.
  • Meditech
  • Assists with the utilization and optimization of the Meditech system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
