The Financial Analyst is responsible for the accounting, payroll and cost records of the Manufacturing Operations for the Dormont site in addition to providing financial reporting, planning and analysis support for the Americas Gas business. The position relies heavily on analytical abilities and experience to sort through complex data and prepares meaningful information to assist management with decision making, accounting deliverables, and business performance metrics and reports. This individual will work cross functionally to identify areas of improvement in process and operations.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance
  • 3+ years of experience in an Operations Finance/Analyst or Accounting role.
  • Ability to research, retrieve, organize and summarize data to prepare reports, financial journal entries, and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability in analyzing, interpreting, and communicating financial information to all levels of management.
  • Thorough understanding of financial frameworks and concepts with the ability to utilize data to influence others.
  • Solid understanding of how financial decisions impact overall business performance with the ability to influence decision-making
  • Strong Excel skills including: VLOOKUP, sumifs, pivot tables, ability to effectively manipulate and organize large amounts of data
  • Self-motivated, problem solver, strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Superior organization skills, ability to multi-task and rearrange priorities as needed, monitor workflow in meeting critical deadlines and project timelines.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must demonstrate intellectual curiosity and be willing to ask questions, make recommendations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strong database query skills; with experience with Hyperion, QAD or Cognos is a plus.
  • Travel required: 5%

  • Master’s Degree and/or Certified Management Accountant is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, investigate, and report variances to standard, budget and prior periods.
  • Prepare/present monthly financial reviews for site management and the region’s senior management.
  • Develop and maintain standard material, labor and overhead costs.
  • Coordinate the development of annual operating plan and multi-year strategic plans.
  • Prepare quarterly financial forecast updates.
  • Compile and maintain operational metrics (KPI’s) for site management
  • Perform month-end financial close process for manufacturing operations including journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, etc.
  • Maintains/processes payroll: reviews, analyzes and checks payroll reports for accuracy and makes necessary adjustments, accruals or corrections through journal entries or other established procedures.
  • Analyze capital investment requests.
  • Provide support for the Site’s inventory reporting requirements and reduction efforts.
  • Coordinate inventory cycle count program and audit results.
  • Assure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, GAAP, and Watts Accounting Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide information and decision support to all Manufacturing departments.
