About The Position

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department. The Financial and Administrative Analyst is responsible for complex financial analysis for one or more Divisions in the Department of Pediatrics. As Finance Analyst, the individual uses advanced skills and is experienced in the management of high volume and highly complex transactions requiring a full understanding of clinical practices and organization policies and procedures. Works independently on problems of diverse scope where data analysis requires evaluation of multiple factors. Understands and utilizes financial tools to review and reflect accurate reporting of financial transactions on the General Ledger. Assists the Division Administrator in annual budget preparation, modeling projection of the division finances, and monitoring and resolving deficit balances. This individual provides some administrative support for the assigned Division(s). May manage and coordinate a range of complex day-to-day division administrative operations, including facilities and human resources management. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $81,300 - $172,300 (Annual Rate). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
  • Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial report
  • Ability to independently gather required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments
  • Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to function as a member of a team
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Health Care industry or Academic Institution
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources
