What you will do: We are looking for a FINANCIAL ANALYST who can help shape our vision and support our mission. Here is what the position will look like.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in health care related area or statistics, computer systems, finance or accounting. Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may substitute with a preference for four years progressive relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in analyst role, preferably in healthcare or health insurance. Demonstrated experience working with data reporting and analysis or financial analysis.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be proficient in MS-Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point), excellent written and verbal communications skills are imperative; experience with Power BI is a plus.
  • Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance will be required for any position requiring driving.

Responsibilities

  • Support all lines of business contracts through reports, analysis and reconciliations.
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial results to support Corporate-wide financial reporting, operational insights, and leadership decision-making.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain financial statements, reports and analysis with a strong working knowledge of the income statement and key financial drivers.
  • Perform detailed monthly revenue and expense variance analysis; independent research, interpret, and clearly communicate drivers of change. Perform monthly reconciliations of provider payments, including incentive tracking and payment variance analysis; develop a strong understanding of payment methodologies and cost drivers.
  • Prepare, review, and monitor journal entries impacting revenue and healthcare costs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls. Support senior-level analysts in new and ongoing healthcare costs (HCC) and revenue analyses by identifying trends, risks, and emerging issues.
  • Respond to provider and internal stakeholder inquiries related to payments, revenue, and healthcare costs with clear, well-supported explanations.
  • Assist with the preparation of state and regulatory reporting, including Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) and Medicaid Reporting Template (MRT) submissions.
  • Partner with the Budget team to analyze changes in membership, revenue, and healthcare costs; contribute to forecasting and financial modeling for annual budget. Participate in forecasting and modeling to support the monthly rolling forecast and proformas.
  • Work cross functionally with all departments to develop reports, explain data and support existing reporting requirement.
  • Present monthly financial results, findings, trends, and variances during accounting close meetings and cross-functional forums and levels of the organization, including VPs and C-Suite Executives.
  • Assist with internal and external audit information requests related to provider payments, incentives, membership, and revenue.
