About The Position

The Financial Analyst is a hands‑on, single‑point finance role responsible for managing and analyzing the company’s financial activities in a shipyard environment. This position supports day‑to‑day financial operations --including invoicing, purchasing analysis, budgeting, and reporting-- while also providing forward‑looking financial analysis to guide business strategy. The Financial Analyst analyzes past financial performance to forecast future results and advises leadership on financial planning, cost control, capital investments, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst OR Valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification with at least one (1) year of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst.
  • The employee must have correctable vision to 20/40 , however contact lenses are not permitted in certain production area positions.
  • The employee must pass the Ishihara test for color blindness and have the ability to read and understand safety symbols and colors, (i.e. red, yellow, green, etc.).
  • The employee must pass a physical medical screening to ensure the ability to safely perform job duties, assessing fitness for duty through health history reviews, vital signs, and physical exams (for vision, hearing, and strength).
  • The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to respirator, hardhat, face shield, safety goggles, safety shoes (steel toe), safety harness, gloves or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis.
  • The employee must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
  • The employee must report to their supervisor any and all damages to equipment or broken and misused tools.
  • The employee needs to work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and financial data related to shipyard operations, projects, labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Manage and analyze invoices, purchasing activity, and vendor spend to support cost control and decision‑making.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for organizational leaders.
  • Create financial models based on historical and current data to support organizational planning and strategic decisions.
  • Analyze industry and market trends and provide recommendations relevant to shipyard and marine operations.
  • Evaluate capital expenditures, asset utilization, and depreciation related to equipment, facilities, and projects.
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting and forecasting tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data visibility.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end financial analysis and reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with leadership, operations, and purchasing to provide financial insight on projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
