About The Position

Supports the operational efficiency of the department by coordinating fiscal management activities, maintaining departmental statistics, and supporting administrative systems. Performs financial analysis, generates financial statements, reports, analyses and audits to reflect underlying business activity, prepares general ledger and miscellaneous income functions, and maintains established database by entering updated data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance OR High School Diploma or Equivalent AND Three (3) years' experience in accounting, payroll or accounts payable system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with computer databases and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to effectively interact with individuals on all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrates effective investigative abilities and documents follow-up actions.
  • Ability to tolerate adverse environmental conditions for long periods.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use computer, answer the telephone and use other office equipment (fax, copier, and printer).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three (3) years' experience in accounting, purchasing, or related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates financial processes to maximize efficiency in the daily accounting operations. Ensures that internal control measures are being followed.
  • Investigates and communicates any variance issues in responsibility areas to supervisor/director of those areas.
  • Codes, routes invoices and forwards, self-insurance funds, legal, taxed, payroll wage attachments, and inter-related party billing.
  • Completes daily miscellaneous receipts and cash deposits and apply them to the accounting system.
  • Serves as administrator of purchasing card expense reporting system.
  • Distributes monthly inventory and expense reports.
  • Ensures that all required reports and documentation are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Maintains adequate supplies and availability of equipment related to the security department vehicles and monitors the usage of the vehicles.
  • Maintains storage files for accounting area.
  • Supports ongoing maintenance, repair and replacement of departmental equipment such as camera systems, radio communication systems and other equipment all officers on a daily basis.
  • Coordinates the purchase of all non-capital equipment required for department and participates in Capital equipment purchase planning.
  • Supports performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Assists in completing and compiling financial support documentation for budget and external audit purposes.
  • Promotes and contributes positively to the teamwork of the department by volunteering to assist coworkers, contributing ideas and problem solving with other co-workers.
  • Participates in educational opportunities as provided by the hospital to enhance skill related abilities.
  • Assists in developing recommendations and proposals to improve the security department in the hospital and in our ancillary facilities and parking areas.
  • Assists in planning and implementing change and maintaining and improving productivity through participation in special projects and assignments.
