About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking our next Finance Specialist! As a Finance Specialist on the NISSC 3 program , you will provide full-spectrum financial support, including budgeting, cost analysis, procurement support, and financial tracking of program obligations and expenditures. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting cost reports, invoices, and funding notifications, while ensuring adherence to applicable financial and compliance standards. Responsibilities Support small business participation and depot maintenance workload reporting and collaborate with program and contracts teams during contract status reviews and financial presentations. This role directly supports a high-visibility, mission-critical DoD program in a secure environment. Conduct budgeting, cost analysis, and financial forecasting for program activities, obligations, and expenditures. Track and reconcile program costs against budgets, contracts, and funding documents; identify variances and support corrective actions. Prepare, review, and submit detailed cost reports, invoices, and funding notifications in accordance with contract and organizational requirements. Ensure financial activities comply with applicable regulations, policies, and standards (e.g., DoD/USG guidelines, internal controls). Support procurement-related financial activities, including purchase requests, approvals, and tracking of commitments and obligations. Support small business participation reporting and depot maintenance workload reporting as required by the program and contract. Collaborate with program management, contracts, and technical leads to support contract status reviews, financial briefings, and customer presentations. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation to support audits, reviews, and internal/external reporting. Contribute to process improvements in financial tracking, reporting tools, and methods to enhance accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, cost analysis, or related financial management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and submitting cost reports, invoices, and funding notifications.
  • Experience tracking and reconciling program expenditures and obligations, preferably in a government or DoD/Defense environment.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and financial support to contracts (e.g., purchase orders, contract funding, modifications).
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED plus 6 additional years of directly relevant financial experience.
  • Active Secret clearance at time of hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI as required by the program.
