About The Position

Moda Operandi is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance Team. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for building financial forecasting models and translating operating results into analysis that guide the business in making well informed decisions to improve spend efficiency and overall profitability. This position will need to work effectively across organizational and functional boundaries to develop a strong understanding of each cost center and its impact on profitable growth to drive strategic decisions. This role requires organization and skill at creating structure in a rapidly growing and dynamic business.

Requirements

  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and exhibit flexibility
  • Detail oriented, outstanding organizational skills, intellectually curious and ability to multitask
  • Have solid understanding of financial statements, exceptional excel / financial modeling skills and advanced PowerPoint and executive level presentation skills
  • 4+ years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, consulting or similar role incorporating financial analytics and forward looking financial modeling

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of NetSuite and business intelligence tools (Looker) a plus, but not required
  • top tier MBA a plus.
  • Experience analyzing e-commerce companies is a double bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reporting packages and Board / investor materials that include financial results, comprehensive KPI reporting, actual versus budget/forecast variances, highlighting opportunities for growth and identifying risks / gaps
  • Implement and refine financial models to improve forecasting accuracy and enhance decision-making capabilities, including forecasting all three financial statements, analyzing future inventory receipts vs sales plan, promotional calendar and affect on product margin, inventory liquidation analysis, sales and margin management
  • Work with department leads to help them understand, develop, and monitor the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts, which include establishing analytical tools, setting timelines and rollout of monthly variance reporting
  • Collaborate with business leaders and build strong cross-functional partnerships to build and report against budgets and optimize spend
  • Establish a regular cadence with business owners to review financial performance and projections
  • Build and maintain financial analysis to monitor new and existing initiatives and ROI
  • Manage compliance reporting for debt facilities, including preparing reporting packages, certificates and other ad hoc requests in timely fashion
  • Champion the advancement of financial planning tools/systems and streamline processes
  • Drive process improvements within the FP&A function to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations
  • Establish and maintain best practices for financial planning, reporting, and analysis for the business
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with business objectives
