About The Position

Join our dynamic Audience Measurement FP&A team, playing a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of IT & Data Solutions (ITDS). As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will delve deep into financial data, contributing to the forecasting, planning, and reporting processes for a key part of Nielsen’s business, responsible for roughly $600m in spend. Your ability to translate raw financial data into meaningful insights will be essential in driving informed decision-making within the ITDS team. You will not only analyze the numbers, but also understand the underlying business context to help identify trends and opportunities while managing risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 2+ years of progressive Finance, Accounting or Consulting experience
  • Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting systems and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and identify key insights.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Ability to translate financial data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to clearly communicate financial findings to stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP (S/4 Hana), Google Suite, AI tools and SAC is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • In-Depth Financial Analysis & Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support forecasting and planning processes, including people costs, non-people costs, and capital expenditures. Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and trend identification. Conduct thorough investigations into financial discrepancies, providing clear explanations and supporting documentation to ensure data accuracy. Generate KPI reports that highlight key performance indicators and relate those indicators to the business operations.
  • Actionable Insight Generation: Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks or opportunities. Develop insightful presentations and reports that clearly communicate financial findings to stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable information. Collaborate with business partners to understand operational drivers and translate them into financial impacts. Provide recommendations that are data driven to improve cost efficiency, and increase ROI. Analyze product profitability and identify areas of improvement.
  • Financial Support & Process Improvement: Provide financial support to the ITDS team, assisting with budget management, cost control, and financial inquiries. Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements within the FP&A function, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency. Assist in the development and maintenance of financial tools and systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Assist in the preparation of investment analysis, and ROI calculations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders in IT, Operations, Commercial, Accounting, and HR to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring alignment across departments. Participate in cross functional meetings, and present financial information to both a financial and non financial audience
