About The Position

The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in driving the financial health and strategic direction of the organization. This position is responsible for supporting and contributing to comprehensive business analytics projects and processes that generate actionable, data-driven insights related to business performance. Utilizing advanced analytical techniques and financial modeling, the Financial Analyst will evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs), assess market trends, and produce detailed financial reports that inform decision-making at all levels of the organization. In this role, the analyst will collaborate closely with various departments, including operations, marketing, and senior management, to identify opportunities for operational improvement and enhance profitability. By leveraging strong analytical skills and business acumen, the Financial Analyst will advise on current and future business initiatives, ensuring that strategic objectives align with financial forecasts and overall corporate goals. Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth financial analyses, developing and refining forecasting models, and performing variance analyses to understand the dynamics of financial performance. Additionally, the analyst will monitor industry trends, engage in scenario planning, and assist in the development of the annual budget and long-term strategic plans.

Requirements

  • College degree in business, finance, mathematics, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional analytical experience
  • Extensive experience and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience and proficiency with MS applications (Power BI, Word, and Outlook)
  • Team oriented
  • Self-starter
  • Detailed oriented and high level of accuracy is a must
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Use statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making
  • Mining, processing and analyzing internal and external data using KPIs, business results, industry sources, competitor intelligence, and customer information
  • Develop a good understanding of the business models, objectives, issues and challenges by interacting and collaborating with users and stakeholders
  • Must have a sense of urgency and a strong sense of curiosity for patterns of data and problem solving skills to approach the data
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
  • Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
  • Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps
  • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is mentioned in virtually any financial analyst job description; familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
