We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Finance department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a Financial Analyst. The hours are Monday - Friday 7 am - 4pm.

Requirements

  • Position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field is required.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytical accounting or financial role.
  • Strong mathematical ability to include algebraic formulas is a must.
  • Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel experience is required.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage competing priorities; willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Regular, reliable attendance on-site is an essential job function.
  • A credit check will be required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designation or MBA a plus.
  • Previous accounting/financial role for a government contractor, a plus.
  • Deltek CostPoint experience, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports to parent company.
  • Supports the development of quarterly business updates and 4-year operating plan to include income statements for three divisions, company balance sheet, cash flow and backlog.
  • Supports the development of the capital plan and assists internal customers with capital project authorization packages and determination of capital treatment in accordance with GAAP.
  • Supports the preparation and analysis of the monthly actual expense versus plan management reports.
  • Sustains the indirect department budgeting cycle. Works with budgetary owners to establish initial spending plans. Holds monthly meetings to monitor activity and track variances to plan. Reforecasts spending plans for quarterly business updates.
  • Assists in contract estimates at completion analyses and the revenue close.
  • Supports compliance activities to include incurred cost submissions and audits, forward pricing rate submissions and audits, etc.
  • Assists with analytical trouble-shooting and problem resolution.
