Financial Analyst (Full Time, Remote)

MetaSourceSalt Lake, UT
6h$70,000 - $85,000Remote

About The Position

We are seeking a rigorous, high-performing Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team. This is not a back-office data entry or sales operations role. You will take direct financial ownership of our Mortgage business unit while providing critical cross-divisional support to our BPM business unit. You will partner with operational leaders, execute complex month-end processes, and drive the financial narrative for your primary division. MetaSource operates a complex, multi-unit business with a tech-enabled component. We need a finance professional who inherently understands general ledger mechanics, thrives in ambiguity, and has the confidence to defend their math in an executive revenue flash call. Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 (DOE) Location: Remote, preference given to applicants in Mountain Standard Time Zone

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of rigorous experience in public accounting (audit), PE-backed FP&A, restructuring, or fast-paced corporate finance.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. You must possess a proven ability to build dynamic operational and financial models from scratch using raw, unstructured ERP data. If your modeling experience is limited to updating pre-built templates, this is not the role for you.
  • Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and the mechanics of the three financial statements.
  • Systems: Ability to navigate and extract data from BI platforms like Qlik. You do not need to be a BI developer, but you must be able to utilize existing data architecture.
  • Employment is contingent upon completing and passing a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Business Unit Ownership: Own P&L forecasting, monthly revenue projections, and variance analysis specifically for the Mortgage Business Unit. This is your primary focus.
  • Operational Modeling: Build and own dynamic financial models from scratch to project revenue, forecast capacity, and analyze margin impacts. You will translate operational assumptions into clear financial outcomes.
  • Cross-Divisional Close Support: Provide targeted month-end close execution for the BPM business unit. Operational and ad-hoc reporting for BPM is strictly handled by the Finance Manager, protecting your bandwidth for your core Mortgage focus.
  • Month-End Execution: Execute core month-end financial tasks, including complex cost allocations, journal entry validations, and detailed report analysis across your assigned business units.
  • Strategic Partnering: Collaborate directly with department heads to update actuals and build precise projections for revenue, expenses, and capital investments.
  • Executive Reporting: Support weekly revenue flash calls by delivering accurate financial data, identifying margin anomalies, and providing actionable business context.
  • Process Optimization: Drive targeted improvement initiatives to streamline FP&A processes and enhance departmental reporting functionality when not engaged in recurring monthly tasks.
  • Other job responsibilities as assigned.
