About The Position

The Financial Analyst position at Aleto, Inc. involves providing finance and budget-related support for the Department of Education, focusing on budget allocations, Reimbursable Work Authorizations (RWAs), and Intergovernmental Payment and Collection System (IPACs) transactions. The role requires strong analytical skills to evaluate needs, recommend critical path steps, and provide insights into project costs while ensuring compliance with federal budgeting rules. This position is 100% onsite in Washington, D.C., and offers the opportunity to work directly with clients to impact federal agency operations.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business (Accounting or Finance preferred) with at least five years of professional experience.
  • Experience supporting federal government clients is a must.
  • Experience supporting DOD/ARMY is a plus.
  • Strong MS Excel data manipulation skills, including pivot tables.
  • Knowledge and ability to work in MS Access and/or Power BI is a plus.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and/or CPA Certification is a plus.
  • Real estate or facilities management experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze budgets (monthly/yearly), track budget changes, make budget projections, and reconcile financial data across business units.
  • Review project, program, and department budgets, consolidating financial information for audit purposes.
  • Draft reimbursable work authorizations (RWAs) and track submissions in the GSA system.
  • Provide insights into project costs and identify financial risks proactively.
  • Draft financial reports and provide briefings for senior executive-level personnel.
  • Collaborate across divisions to communicate financial information and gather necessary data.
  • Assist in training newly hired departmental staff.
