About the position

The Financial Analyst will provide financial and analytical support to Senior Financial Management, Group Logistics Managers, and Logistics Managers. This role involves various essential functions including the analysis of unbilled items, accounts payable processing, reconciliation of business functions, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. The analyst will also be responsible for training business unit staff, acting as a liaison with corporate accounting and tax departments, and assisting upper management with special projects and analysis related to accounting and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the role includes month-end closing responsibilities, operational initiatives, and financial analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of unbilled items for license and sales tax prepaid items over customer contract amount.
  • Accounts Payable processing for all licensing processing as needed.
  • Reconciliation, review and interpret business functions of all licenses prepaid fees.
  • Provide financial training to Business Unit staff, including policies, procedures and financial tools.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and accurate projection of financials.
  • Act as Licensing Team liaison with Ryder's Shared Services Center, Corporate Accounting group & Tax Departments.
  • Make appropriate Accounting decisions when working on projects & accounting system enhancements.
  • Assist upper management with special projects and analysis related to accounting of vehicles and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and develop solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform month-end closing including journal entries and general ledger research.
  • Work closely with Director of Licensing Compliance to identify opportunities for revenue/cost/productivity improvements.
  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting including performance analysis and cost analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in business administration, finance, accounting or related field.
  • Four (4) years or more in Finance, Accounting or Operations required.
