About The Position

BAE Systems is offering an exciting opportunity to support an important and dynamic Department of Justice customer as a Financial Analyst/Logistics Specialist working with a team of diverse and highly capable IT professionals. The Logistics Specialist: is responsible for providing financial analytic/Logistics support to our customers program; Integrates business, cost estimating and financial management processes to ensure the efficient management of funds; Provides support for shipping/receiving/tracking equipment and purchased items. Prepares and maintains required reports and documentation for periodic audits. The FA/LS shall direct, develop, or perform logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a designated program. The FA/LS will: assist with developing purchasing budgets for system equipment refreshes; Analyzes recurring requirements to determine continued needs; Monitors expenses to ensure appropriate budgetary levels are maintained; Monitors and tracks Enterprise License Agreements, submits requests for new agreements, and consults with customer managers to remove when no longer needed to provide cost savings to the customer. Assists with detailed inventories. Provides feedback to customer managers for budget planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: with five (5) years' experience
  • Master's with two (2) years' experience
  • PhD with one (1) years' experience
  • equivalent combination of training and experience or:
  • Minimum/General Experience: 8 years of relevant experience performing the following: Develops, interprets and implements financial concepts. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts. Performs economic research and performs analysis of financial statements. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.
  • knowledge of agency program planning, funding, and management information system
  • Broad knowledge of the organization and functions of activities involved in providing logistical support
  • Ability to identify many different types of IT equipment
  • Pack and ship IT related equipment
  • Perform inventory control of critical equipment and supplies
  • Ability to manage multiple competing tasks, to prioritize effectively, and to accomplish all duties within the time available
  • Conduct inventory of new equipment within strict time allowances to ensure payment . of purchase orders
  • Utilize commercial shipping companies (FedEx & UPS) practices and policies
  • Work in a team-oriented environment
  • Direct the delivery of equipment and supplies to more than 100 separate facilities
  • Be flexible and responsive to operational needs and address exigent operational needs
  • Inventory management practices

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting large scale enterprise technical systems is preferred.
  • Government/military logistics support experience.
