About The Position

The Financial Analyst III is responsible for the development and maintenance of program financial plans in support of multiple products and business areas. This position will work within a team environment comprised of Program Management, Finance, Technical and other supporting staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a government contracting and manufacturing environment
  • Current expertise in MS Office Suite (Advanced MS Excel required)
  • Must be able to effectively work with other users, finance, planners and support staff in achieving results
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to reconcile complex billing data across systems
  • Ability to translate billing data into clear explanations for non-billing stakeholders
  • Selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, utilizing good judgment
  • Has effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Focuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with government billing systems and processes (e.g., WAWF) preferred
  • Understanding of government invoicing, liquidation, and progress billing concepts
  • Experience in project controls and/or financial planning in a government contracting environment is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Government Cost accounting principles and FAR preferred
  • Experience using Oracle Fusion preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERP, SCM, and CRM software/applications
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
  • Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a billing liaison between Finance, Contracts, and Accounts Receivable to facilitate accurate and timely government billings
  • Supports billing execution by validating billed vs. unbilled balances, investigating billing delays, and resolving discrepancies
  • Assists Program Finance with rolling billing forecasts and cash flow projections
  • Responds to billing-related inquiries from internal stakeholders and corporate finance
  • Supports the evolution and continuous improvement of billing models, tools, and processes
  • Support and maintenance of complex revenue forecasting & revenue accrual models
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis, identify trends and prepares ad-hoc financial reports with recommendations for improvements
  • Analyze large volumes of data using worksheet/database skills to provide meaningful information for decision making
  • Prepares monthly financial analysis, budgets, and forecasts
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial & budgetary reports to develop observations and preliminary recommendations
  • Prepares and communicates variances to management
  • Supports the month end close and prepares monthly financial reporting packages
  • Performs a variety of special projects, financial presentations, and financial analysis
  • Ensures compliance with internal procedures and government procurement regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
