We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Analyst III that will be responsible for preparing, analyzing and interpreting various accounting and financial data for one or more business units, locations and products. Responsible for the quality, timeliness and integrity of financial data. Determines financial requirements, develops and implements procedures or systems to meet specific financial objectives. Duties range from basic accounting and analytical tasks to interpreting financial reports and data to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with company and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Requirements

  • 2 + years Financial Analyst or Accounting experience, including broad business exposure primarily in manufacturing
  • Excellent organization skills, time management, problem solving skills, and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with system enhancements and integrations
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to interact well within all departments at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced Excel skills), SAP preferred but any ERP system is acceptable
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business required

Nice To Haves

  • Cost accounting and Mill accounting experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
  • Provide lead support to some areas of the mill operation to provide performance and cost analyses, insights, and inputs to the forecasting process.
  • General understanding on mill manufacturing operation, product, and customers. Strong knowledge and experience with cost accounting and mill accounting transactions
  • Support mill daily product cost reporting and costs management reporting.
  • Perform intermediate to advanced financial reporting and analysis such as optimizing new reports that others can build, working with operation to solve outliers in costs & production, and performing most accelerated SAP tasks such as recipe loading and costing.
  • Develop mid-level of the COGP and P&L and most profitability levers; Suggests opportunities for improvements, Leads more complex projects on cost savings opportunities. Can evaluate most improvement AFE financial returns for capital projects. Create more advanced journal entries.
  • Support the completion of the month end, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring timely completion of the close and producing the related reporting packs, investigating and explaining manufacturing and cost variances, and provide support to the operations managers.
  • Support annual budget process for some areas of the mill operation, analyzing product costing, understanding and justifying variances compared to prior periods and prior budget.
  • Implement consistent mill inventory processes.
  • Work closely with some areas of the operation team and the key stakeholders to structure and execute any continuous improvement initiatives, assisting with the monthly/quarterly calculations of actual performance and the future periods' forecasts.
  • Support the implementation of consistent financial best practices and efficiency in processes; continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve.
  • Work with Operation areas to develop visible cost reporting KPl's that enable active decision making.
  • Support the annual audit process through the provision of audit schedules and analysis of results, inventory, costs, or other key performance metrics.
  • Support an effective control environment is maintained through compliance.
