About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking to fill a financial analyst position in their Credit, Payment System Risk, and Reserves area. This area serves as a contingency lender in support of financial and economic stability and assists with the implementation of monetary policy. Additionally, it assesses and monitors risk arising from the Reserve Bank's counterparties and determines appropriate risk mitigation strategies. The Bank believes in flexibility to balance the demands of work and life while also recognizing the necessity of connecting and collaborating with colleagues in person. Onsite work is an essential function of this position, and you are expected to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week for meetings and team collaboration. This hybrid schedule is available after the initial training period. Successful candidates must live in or relocate to the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota areas.

Requirements

  • High School diploma AND six (6) years or more of financial analysis or related experience OR
  • Associate degree AND four (4) years or more of financial analysis or related experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields AND two (2) years or more of financial analysis or related experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational, customer service, leadership, and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a team setting, both as a leader and a participant.
  • Ability to manage and adapt to multiple concurrent projects, shifting priorities, deadlines, and informational needs.
  • Excellent project management skills, including organization and time management.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office products.

Nice To Haves

  • SharePoint experience and strong data query writing skills, such as Tableau, SQL, PowerBI, and others preferred.
  • Experience in lending, collateral valuation, banking compliance, risk management or other experience closely related to the functions of Credit, Payment System Risk, and/or Reserves and the applicable business line applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Processing lending requests from depository institutions; explaining borrowing procedures and guidelines; managing collateral transactions; advising depository institutions on Federal Reserve account management and performing account maintenance; monitoring the condition of banks in the Ninth District; counseling depository institutions on related policies; and writing and maintaining operating procedures.
  • Fielding, researching, and responding to routine-to-moderately complex depository institution inquiries regarding Credit, Payment System Risk, or Reserves policies, procedures and regulations related to the discount window, collateral eligibility, and account management.
  • Assisting and leading assignments related to Federal Reserve Emergency Lending Facilities.
  • Participating on Federal Reserve System projects, work groups, and special assignments which may require occasional travel.
