About The Position

The Financial Analyst II plays a critical role in supporting Smoothie King’s financial performance and strategic growth initiatives. This role goes beyond routine reporting - leveraging data insights, advanced modeling, and cross-functional collaboration to drive strategic decision-making across the brand. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, detail-oriented finance professional with strong analytical capabilities and business acumen in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Requirements

• Advanced financial modeling and analysis skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear and concise insights.
• Strong command of Excel (pivot tables, lookups, nested formulas, macros) and business intelligence tools (Power BI required; Tableau and SQL preferred).
• Exceptional attention to detail paired with the ability to see the “big picture” and understand business drivers.
• Ensure consistency and integrity of financial data across reporting outputs, dashboards, and planning models.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to senior leadership and non-financial stakeholders.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Proven experience building strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners and influencing business decisions through data.
• Highly self-motivated, intellectually curious, and committed to continuous improvement and learning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive financial experience; QSR, restaurant, or retail industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting corporate planning, forecasting, and financial performance tracking.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial statement analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of robust financial models for annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range plans, providing actionable insights to leadership.
• Design, implement, and enhance automated dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to support real-time, data-driven decision-making.
• Perform in-depth variance analysis, identifying key drivers, trends, and opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Serve as a strategic business partner to cross-functional leaders, offering financial guidance and insights to support initiatives related to marketing, operations, supply chain, and development.
• Maintain and enhance store-level financial models to track performance metrics (sales, labor, operating expenses) and drive accountability.
• Drive process improvement initiatives within the finance function to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of reporting processes.
• Collaborate across departments to align key financial assumptions, ensuring data integrity and transparency in financial outputs.
• Translate financial and operational data into insights tied to key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales growth, margin improvement, labor productivity, and cost control.
• Support leadership decision-making by providing scenario analysis and recommendations that quantify financial impact and risk.
• Promote the culture, values, and mission of Smoothie King.
