As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in SQL or data analytics tools for data extraction, analysis and presentation via dashboards.
  • Experience with financial reporting and forecasting tools.
  • Ability to build cross-functional partnerships, growing in fluid environments, and driving operational excellence.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels within a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to develop business cases.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business and leadership support teams to develop business plans, manage annual budgets, drive visibility into performance and resource planning decisions and provide insights to inform better decision making
  • Collaborate with business partners to drive accountability for business performance improvements.
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial planning cycles, including month-end close, forecast variance analysis, executive-level reporting/presentations and the maintenance of datasets and dashboards.
  • Utilize expertise across tools and financial systems to troubleshoot, execute data pulls and loads, create financial models with datasets, and partner with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and systems teams.
  • Seek opportunities to drive efficiency and improvements in financial planning reporting processes to enable financial visibility for business partners.
