About The Position

We're searching for a Financial Analyst, Associate to join our UPMC Enterprises team! This is a regular, full-time position that offers a weekly, hybrid work schedule. In this role, the Financial Analyst, Associate will provide controllership and financial monitoring over UPMC Enterprises' portfolio of health care focused companies, technologies, and solutions. They'll also support certain portfolio companies by assisting with accounting & audit matters, financial modeling, and other ad-hoc requests. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field
• Baseline technical knowledge of accounting and financial reporting matters
• Analytical, problem solver, detailed-oriented, curious and inquisitive
• Competent in Microsoft 365 products, including Excel and Power BI
• Proven ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and commitments
• Ability to communicate (both oral and written) and manage time effectively

Responsibilities

• Assists in the month-end close, including preparing and posting journal of entries and financial statements in conformance with GAAP, and communicates results to team members.
• Prepare reconciliations and analyze balance sheet accounts.
• Support the processing of wires, payment requests, invoicing, and collection.
• Creates and maintains clear and concise workpapers to support business decisions and to defend positions taken by UPMC Enterprises.
• Supports portfolio companies as necessary to address their accounting and finance areas.
• Willingness to understand markets forces, profit drivers, and differentiators needed to support the creation of winning solutions.
• Builds and maintains data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI to present dynamic insights of UPMC Enterprises financial activity.
• Assist in the annual portfolio valuation, annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Analyzes financial results and develops reports for executive-level and board-level leadership.
