In this job, you'll be responsible for overseeing the NextGen ERP regulatory activities and coordinating cross-functional teams for tasks required to complete regulatory requirements. In addition, this role will support the monitoring and reporting of program financial results throughout the life of the project. NextGen ERP is a large, complex multi-year program designed to transform the way the electric utility operates. Requirements

  • Ten or more years of experience in financial planning, modeling and/or forecasting.

  • Experience overseeing specific projects including defining issues, developing project plans, undertaking analysis, presenting results and working with respective managers and leaders to oversee implementation.
  • Experience leading and participating in cross-functional regulatory proceeding teams, supporting regulatory activities, including the development of filings, facilitation of meetings with internal and/or external collaborators, and responding to data requests.
  • Strong leadership, ethics, communication and influence skills to build consensus with stakeholders to develop and maintain partnerships with client organizations and senior leadership, as well as ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuously changing environment.
  • Experience advising and recommending courses of action on process improvements, financial/operational plans, or business strategy.
  • Experience performing full-cycle ad-hoc complex financial analysis, including identifying client needs, gathering relevant information from appropriate partners, conducting data analytics and presenting information clearly and effectively to management.
  • Experience in analyzing program costs and benefits in support of program/project financial health and performance.
  • Experience developing and engaging in discussions with a variety of audiences and levels across the Company, including effective written, verbal, and presentation skills supporting management review.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Policy or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Defines and implements the financial analysis strategy, providing consistent financial insight and analysis to be used to support effective enterprise strategy development, decision making and performance management.
  • Drives all financial reporting cycles with relevant and accurate information, including monthly results, statutory reports, short and long term forecasts/budgets and the overall finance strategy.
  • Ensures all Financial Analysis activities are carried out in compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements and governance standards.
  • Conducts executive level financial analysis presentations and communicates recommendations to senior leadership as required.
  • Shapes the financial evaluation and development of business cases for capital projects or capital program reviews that have a major financial or operational impact to the organization.
  • Monitors capital investment for all authorization levels and ensure all revisions are submitted timely for approval.
  • Guides the resolution of complex financial issues, developing least cost or cost benefit analysis or identifying innovative solutions for various scenario analyses.
  • Optimizes the provision of financial advisory support to the enterprise including analysis of potential investments, mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Coordinates the analyst training program, ensuring a robust curriculum which delivers optimal learning outcomes.
  • Champions the implementation of risk management and internal controls processes, including assessment and monitoring current internal controls to ensure they are adequately designed and operating effectively in compliance with accounting, organizational, and regulatory policies.
  • Accelerates innovation within Financial Analysis, identifying ways to improve working processes through the application of automation or other technology solutions.
