The Technical Assistant is an integral part of the Financial Aid Department. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring that accurate Financial Aid information is disseminated to prospective and current students, as well as the community at large. This role includes working at the front counter to assist students with the Financial Aid process.

  • Advise students and parents on available financial aid sources for programs such as: Federal and Illinois State Grant Programs, Federal Work-Study, student loans, veteran's grants and scholarships.
  • Assist current/prospective students with completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the web and field student inquiries at the front counter.
  • Answer incoming phone calls to the Financial Aid Office.
  • Assist students in the completion of financial aid documents and review submitted documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Working with diverse student populations.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Computer experience, including data entry and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate with and have an understanding of the diverse student population that Triton College serves.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
