You will help manage student employment and communicate information about financial aid with faculty, staff and students. This work is an integral part of the entire campus. Our location with the Enrollment and Business Services offices fosters a true teamwork environment. Your communication style should be effective yet personalized to the level of understanding for the students or individuals you’re working with. We are looking for a person who enjoys learning and will not be intimidated by frequent changes in financial aid regulations. Montana Technological University seeks an organized and detailed oriented Financial Aid Specialist to be a member of the Financial Aid team. This position manages the Federal and State Work Study Programs and student employment. The Financial Aid Specialist will contribute to the efficient operation of a busy on-campus office by providing various support to the Director, other financial aid personnel, and to Enrollment Services for student and parent campus visits related to financial aid.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Customer service experience
  • Demonstrated ability to complete detail-oriented tasks with a high level of accuracy
  • Exemplary interpersonal communication skills – written and oral
  • Must be eligible for access to federal aid databases, meaning cannot be in default

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Related work experience in an educational or financial setting
  • Experience with financial aid policies and procedures
  • Experience with Banner or other FAMs system
