About The Position

The intern will work in a fast-paced, welcoming environment at Financial Aid & Scholarships, and assist with the receiving and processing of sensitive information pertaining to scholarships and federal aid, and applications for the IWORK program, and assisting in the training/dispersing of relevant information via outreach efforts. The Financial Aid & Scholarships Office Intern should have a solid working knowledge of office processes and systems. The candidate should be highly efficient, able to multi-task and able to work through interruptions. This position requires an individual to maintain confidentiality and project a professional image. A strong preference will be given to applicants with proficient English and who are able to fluently speak a language from Oceania and the Asian rim. Responsibilities

  • Assists the Financial Aid & Scholarships Senior Manager, supervisors and counselors with a wide range of complex secretarial, electrical and receptionist duties while maintaining the ability to execute tasks and day to day activities
  • Learns and understands processes regulating scholarships, federal aid, and the IWORK program, and is prepared to share this knowledge with potential students/parents and country facilitators
  • Assists with and organizes outreach efforts, particularly with country facilitators and students
  • Assists with supporting the Financial Aid Awareness Month (yearly, February) and National Financial Aid Day (October)
  • Responds promptly to inquiries regarding financial aid-related questions
  • Prepares and maintains confidential and sensitive documents
  • Provides department support to perform special projects and maintain database when directed
  • Be sure when working on projects to keep information confidential
  • Reports for their work shift on time, works their allotted hours, and coordinates time-off requests ahead of time with the exception of unforeseen emergencies
  • Must dress in standards and in casual/ professional wear. Effective immediately, no t-shirt with inappropriate advertising, holes, cut collars, etc. No shorts or cut-off jeans. No rubber slippers or flip flops
  • Must display at all times a professional image
  • Must work only during scheduled hours unless approved by supervisor
  • Keeps work area tidy and clean after work hours
