About The Position

The Financial Aid Loan Coordinator at SUNY Brockport plays a crucial role in assisting the Senior Financial Aid Advisor to ensure compliance with student loan programs. The coordinator will also assist students and families with loan-related tasks and ensure proper aid adjustments in accordance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• A minimum of one year of experience in financial aid or a related field.
• Experience in a customer service environment.
• High-level experience with software/database and computerized financial systems.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Financial Aid Advisor in ensuring compliance with student loan programs.
• Coordinate the financial aid purge process, including exit counseling.
• Perform default management and prevention activities.
• Promote financial literacy initiatives among students and families.
• Assist students and families with completion of promissory notes and entrance counseling.
• Process loan adjustments in the Student Information System.
• Educate students on financial literacy and collaborate with various departments to implement these initiatives.
