About The Position

The Financial Aid Functional Analyst position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the daily processing of financial aid applications and awards. This role involves quality assurance, troubleshooting, and error resolution related to financial aid processes, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The analyst will work closely with the Senior Financial Aid Functional Analyst and assist in improving the efficiency and accuracy of financial aid operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Three years of Information Technology related experience required, preferably in a higher education setting
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to student institutional records and federal financial aid required
  • Experience with financial aid-related web systems preferred
  • Experience developing procedural documentation and training materials preferred
  • Experience facilitating group and individual end user training preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office products and student information systems, preferably PeopleSoft
  • Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information for compliance
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Effective decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with financial aid-related web systems (SAIG, COD, NSLDS, Access) preferred
  • Experience developing procedural documentation and training materials preferred
  • Experience facilitating group and individual end user training for employees with varying technology skill levels preferred

Responsibilities

  • Research, test, and implement new and modified financial aid CWISA functionality (PeopleSoft PUMs)
  • Assist in the review and set up of processes for new award years to ensure compliance with federal financial aid regulations
  • Routinely review setup for accuracy through internal audit queries
  • Ensure daily and weekly processes related to ISIR processes, verification, awarding, disbursement, and file exchange are run
  • Manage daily downloads of files between GRCC and the Dept of Education using EdConnect software
  • Lead weekly, monthly, and yearly reconciliation of Pell, SEOG, and Direct Loans with the Dept of Education and General Ledger
  • Assist with Item Type setup and maintenance, Jobs & Jobsets
  • Establish and monitor scheduled processes including Download process, Packaging, and Repackaging
  • Assist with Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) processes
  • Write ad hoc and regularly used queries for data and processing needs
  • Run weekly authorization & disbursement of financial aid funds and troubleshoot issues
  • Ensure compliance with remedial coursework regulations and communicate with impacted students
  • Create and update student data reports using PS queries
  • Implement and maintain Oracle PeopleSoft 3Cs for Financial Aid use
  • Provide technical support to Financial Aid processing and customer service staff
  • Develop end user process documentation and training materials
  • Attend professional development events to stay updated on regulations and best practices
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Advise and assist students and families with the financial aid application process
  • Participate in college committees representing financial aid
