The Office of Financial Aid at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science is seeking a dedicated Financial Aid Counselor to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role is pivotal in coordinating all aspects of financial aid for students, which includes processing financial aid applications, managing student files, and providing comprehensive counseling on loan options, scholarship opportunities, and effective debt management strategies. The Financial Aid Counselor will play a crucial role in ensuring that students and their families understand the financial aid process and have access to the resources they need to succeed in their educational pursuits. In this position, the Financial Aid Counselor will analyze and evaluate student financial aid data, providing both in-person and virtual counseling to students, parents, and other stakeholders seeking assistance with financial aid applications, eligibility, disbursement, and repayment processes. The counselor will also engage in occasional speaking engagements focused on financial literacy, debt management, and loan exit interviews, helping to educate students on important financial topics. Additionally, the counselor will assist students with financial considerations related to leaves of absence or withdrawals from their programs, utilizing professional judgment to accommodate and counsel students facing special circumstances. The role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Federal Student Aid and Department of Education policies and regulations, as well as creating and developing financial aid publications, applications, and calendars. The Financial Aid Counselor will also be responsible for assisting in the development of SFA policies and procedures, conducting presentations related to financial literacy and debt management tailored to specific student populations, and ensuring effective communication with university partners. This position demands a high level of integrity and ethical behavior, particularly when handling confidential information.
