About The Position

The Financial Aid Counselor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University plays a crucial role in guiding students and their families through the financial aid process. Requirements

• High school (or GED) level ability in spelling, grammar, basic composition, and math.
• 1-3 years of related work experience.
• Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite and Internet end-user applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial aid processing and eligibility requirements.
• Experience with automated files management, tracking, and letter generating computer programs.
• Excellent organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Advising applicants and their families regarding the financial assistance process and its relation to university functions.
• Evaluating the eligibility of applicants for financial assistance funds.
• Processing Federal Stafford/PLUS loan programs and private loan programs for students and families.
